An answer to all of your questions with all the information you’ll need to make it easier to buy a ticket, to use our web site and all of the services it provides, to contact us, and to take advantage of all of the benefits of flying with Blu-express.
How do I buy a ticket?
You can securely book and buy tickets online through the Blu-express website using a VISA, MASTERCARD or AMERICAN EXPRESS credit card.
Credit card fee is €7 (Visa, MasterCard and American Express) are calculated per flight and per passenger.
It is also possible to make a purchase from our Call Centre using a credit card, subject to a surcharge of €8 (excluding VAT) per flight and per passenger. The Call Centre is open for bookings and telephone sales every day from 06am to 10pm on the following numbers:

Tickets can also be purchased directly from registered travel agents, Blu-express ticket offices in departure and arrival airports and the Blu-express sales offices listed below:

What is the latest at which I can buy a ticket?
Tickets from travel agents and Blu-express ticket offices in town can be purchased up to 24 hours prior to boarding.
Tickets from the website may be purchased up to 2 hours and 30 minutes before departure.
Tickets may be purchased up to 1 hour before the scheduled departure time by contacting the Call Centre or at airport ticket offices.

How can I change, cancel or get information about a booking I have made?
Changes to flight dates and times can be made online at www.blu-express.com up to 24 hours before departure, subject to availability. We charge an additional payment of € 30 per change plus the difference between the original fare paid and the lowest fare available when the change is requested.

No refunds will be made should the available fare be lower than the original fare paid.

Name changes incur a fixed cost of €65 and can be carried out online at www.blu-express.com up to 24 hours before departure.

Name changes are not allowed for bookings that comprise several flights if one journey has already been taken (used) or has expired. Bookings comprising several flights: all parts of the journey must be in the same name.

Itinerary changes are only possible through the Call Center.
Can I apply for tax refund for an unused ticket?
All blu-express.com fares are fully changeable flight/dates/times and names up to 24 hrs prior to original flight departure. Rerouting is allowed by the call center only. However fares, service fees an fuel supplement are not refundable. Government taxes may be refunded. Tax refund must be sent no later than 7 (seven) days since the departure date by writing an email to rimborsotasse@blu-express.com following the instructions provided about documents to send in order to be eligible for the refund.

How can I receive confirmation of a booking made online or through the call centre?
For bookings made online or through the Call Centre, the airline will send the passenger an email containing confirmation of the booking together with the booking number and details of the flight purchased.

Passengers must therefore provide a valid email address when making a booking.

If a ticket is purchased online through an agency, it is the agency’s responsibility to send the passenger confirmation of the booking number and details of the flight.
Can I request a tax receipt once I have booked the ticket?
The booking confirmation is a fiscally valid document for any tax-related requirements a passenger may have, whether for business or personal needs.
What is the procedure once I reach the airport?
Passengers should arrive at the airport early to ensure they have enough time to check in prior to departure.

The blu-express.com check-in counter opens 2 hours prior to the flight’s scheduled departure and closes 35 minutes before departure for NATIONAL flights and 45 minutes before for INTERNATIONAL flights.

Passengers are advised to check in early. In addition, passengers must be at the boarding gate at least 25 minutes before the flight’s scheduled departure time. Passengers may only check in for one flight at a time.

Passengers must check in prior to proceeding to the boarding gate.

The airline reserves the right to cancel the reservation of any passengers who arrive later than the deadlines stated above. Passengers must check in using a valid identity document.

Passengers must also ensure they are in possession of any documents that may be required under destination countries’ legislation for entry into their territory.

It is the responsibility of passengers to ensure they have a valid identity document and comply with any further requirements and documentation required by customs and immigration authorities.

The airline can bear no responsibility for penalties, sanctions, expenses or costs incurred due to passengers' not fulfilling these requirements or not having valid documents.

Passengers are requested to contact the immigration authorities of the destination country for any relevant information prior to booking the flight ticket.

If a passenger’s document is found to be invalid or if the passenger’s name on the booking does not correspond to the name on the identity document, the airline will not allow the passenger to board the plane and no refund will be provided.
What are the fares and conditions for minors and children?
"Infants" are passengers up to 23 months on traveldate;
Children from 0 to 2 years old (infants) must travel in the arms of the accompanying adult.

"Children" are passengers who are between 2 and 14 years old on the date of travel.
They receive no discount on the fare.
Children may only travel with an adult over 18 years of age;

"Unaccompanied minors" (between 0 and not yet turned 14 years old) may not travel on our flights.
A single passenger over 18 years of age may not travel with more than one infant.

Infants and children up to 10 years of age may travel on domestic flights if they are included on the parent's passaport with whom they are travelling.
Infants and children may travel with a certificate of family status, birth certificate or a parent’s self-certification (Italian nationals only).

For international flights, adult passengers must have an identity card that is valid for foreign travels or a passport.

Infants and children up to 10 years may fly internationally if included in the parent's passaport with whom they are travelling;

infants and children must have a Carta Bianca [travel document for minors consisting of a birth certificate with a photograph], certified at a Police Headquarters.

In addition to the documentation listed above, infants and children travelling with an adult who is not their parent must provide a document from the parents delegating responsibility to the adult in question.
I am an expectant mother; are there any special requirements for me? I have special needs; who should I contact?
For safety reasons and to avoid any damage to passengers’ health, the airline will only carry expectant mothers in accordance with the following conditions:
- up to 28 weeks: pregnant women do not require a medical certificate to board our flights. The airline may ask for a document to certify that you are no more than 28 weeks pregnant.

- from 29 to 36 weeks: the airline requires a medical certificate to confirm that the pregnant woman is in a suitable condition to fly, certifies to her good health and states the baby’s expected date of birth.

Women who are over 37 weeks pregnant are not allowed on board under any circumstances.

Pregnant women must inform the airline of their condition when making the booking.

We would like to remind passengers that all pregnant women must, in their own interests, inform Blu-express of their condition when making the booking.

Passengers with special needs must contact the airline’s Call Centre to request the assistance required at least 72 hours prior to departure +39 0698956677.

For any kind of assistance, or for the transport of newborn babies, pregnant women or persons with disabilities, contact the Call Centre when making the booking.

To guarantee punctuality the airline can accept a maximum of four wheelchairs per flight.

What are the condition for baggage transportation?
Each passenger may bring on board one single piece of unchecked luggage. Its weight should not exceed 10 kg and its dimensions should be 55cmx40cmx20cm including handle +wheels..

For each passenger, except for infants who are not entitled to a baggage allowance, the weight limit for checked-in baggage is 30 kg all together for a maximum of two pieces of baggage, the sum of whose length, height and width measurements must not exceed 160 cm.

A charge is payable for all baggage carried in the hold.


- Purchasing a baggage allowance through the internet/ call center

Blu Express allows the passenger to check up to 2 luggages for a maximum weight not exceeding 30 kgs per passenger.

The fee for carrying one luggage, with a weight not exceeding 20 kg, is 15€ per segment and per each passenger.

The fee for carrying one luggage, with a weight not exceeding 30 kg, is 30€ per segment and per each passenger.

The fee for carrying two luggages, with a weight not exceeding 30 kg, is 30€ per segment and per each passenger.

For any extra kgs, exceeding the above allowances, Blu Express charge a fee of 10€ per kg, per passenger and per segment.


- Purchasing a baggage allowance airport ticketing office

Blu Express allows the passenger to check up to 2 luggages for a maximum weight not exceeding 30 kgs per passenger.

The fee for carrying one luggage, with a weight not exceeding 20 kg, is 30€ per segment and per each passenger.

The fee for carrying one luggage, with a weight not exceeding 30 kg, is 60€ per segment and per each passenger.

The fee for carrying two luggages, with a weight not exceeding 30 kg, is 60€ per segment and per each passenger.

For any extra kgs, exceeding the above allowances, Blu Express charge a fee of 10€ per kg, per passenger and per segment.


The airport management company’s ticketing office may apply a commission fee for collecting and issuing what is due for excess baggage. This fee varies depending on the airport management company that operates the various airports.

Pooling baggage weight allowances amongst several passengers is not allowed. In addition, the allowance for checked baggage is for each individual passenger so is personal and cannot cumulated and/or shared with other passengers, meaning it cannot be pooled and/or shared at the time of check-in with that of other passengers on the same flight.Each passenger may bring on board one single piece of unchecked luggage. Its weight should not exceed 10 kg and its dimensions should be 55cmx40cmx20cm including handle +wheels.. The following items are also allowed free of charge on board: a handbag, briefcase, notebook; a coat or a blanket; an umbrella or a walking stick; a camera or binoculars; reading material; baby food, a foldable wheelchair and crutches or other kind of prosthesis if the passenger is dependent on these.
In hand baggage, only small quantities of liquids are allowed. They must be contained in vessels that each have a maximum capacity of 100 millilitres (1/10 of a litre) or equivalent (e.g.: 100 grammes) and the vessels in question must then be placed in a transparent, reclosable plastic bag with a capacity of not more than 1 litre (e.g. measuring approximately cm 18 x 20). It must be possible to close the bag with its respective content (meaning that the vessels must fit comfortably inside it). For each passenger (including infants), it will be allowable to carry one plastic bag of the dimensions described above.

Through the internet, it is possible to purchase a baggage allowance for a maximum of 2 items of baggage per flight segment per passenger. The passenger can check in additional pieces of baggage to be carried in the hold but the weight, counting from the third piece checked in, will be calculated entirely as excess baggage, charged at € 10,00 per kg.

Charges for additional baggage not paid through the internet can be paid at airport ticketing offices.

Payments made for baggage charges cannot be refunded if the passenger voluntarily cancels the trip.
What should I do if the luggage is lost or damaged?
In order to refund passengers of any damages, Blu-express.com requests the following documentation:

1) the lost/damaged luggage report compiled at the airport
2) the flight ticket
3) the luggage stub
4) a certification of the damage by a luggage shop

Can children travel alone?
We accept unaccompanied minors on our airplanes (from 0 to not yet turned 14 years old). Review the procedure by the Terms and Conditions (paragraph 8.1)
Why can't I find any flights over 6 months from now?
Standard airlines change their timetables twice a year, in March and in October.
This is why our schedule is planned in 6-month intervals
What are the procedures for travelling with pets?
Animals that would have to be transported in the hold of the aircraft are not accepted.

Cats and dogs whose weight including their container does not exceed 10 kg may be transported in the cabin, subject to the payment of €30 per journey.

Only one animal is allowed per passenger.
The airline can accept a maximum of 2 dogs or cats per flight.

The transport of animals together with the traveler is regulated by CE Reg N° 998/03 and requires the certificates set out in Dec. 2004/203/CE (modified by Dec. 2004/301/CE).

For the airline to accept the animal, passengers must bring their own carry case, whose dimensions must not exceed 102 centimetres as a sum of height, width and depth ( 46x25x31 cm ).

Animals under 3 months of age cannot travel in Europe, as they will not yet have been vaccinated against rabies.

Certain countries apply limitations or prohibitions with regard to the introduction of certain animal species.
Passengers are therefore asked to check any eventual limitations or prohibitions in their destination country PRIOR to departure.

Birds are not allowed on board.

Animals must be comfortable in the container and must be able to turn around and lie down;
the pet container must be well ventilated, waterproof and sturdy.
The container to be taken into the cabin may contain up to 5 animals of the same species on condition that their total weight (including food and the container itself) is not over 8 kg.
If these conditions are not complied with or the animal disturbs other passengers, the captain of the flight may have the container transferred to the hold.

The airline reserves the right to refuse to transport animals if the above criteria are not complied with.

Passengers should contact the airline’s Call Centre at least 72 hours prior to departure to check whether the flight has space available for the transport of animals.

Failing this, there is no guarantee that the animals will be accepted at check-in.
Can I take sports' equipment with me?
The transportation of technical and professional equipment, whether sporting or otherwise, golf and diving equipment, windsurfing boards and water or snow skis is subject to a fee of €5 per kg.

Contact the Call Centre to book it in.

If equipment has not previously been booked on to the flight the amount to be paid may be collected at check-in.

Bicycles may ONLY be transported in the hold.
The bicycle must be properly packaged with its handlebars turned towards the frame of the bicycle and appropriately blocked, its pedals disassembled and its wheels disassembled and tyres deflated.

In addition, the passenger must fill in a form at the airport waiving the airline’s responsibility for any eventual damage caused during transportation.
