Help Somalia with Blu-Express and UNHCR
Blu-express by Blue Panorama Airlines and the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) are pleased to announce that
from January and throughout all 2012 it will be possible to add 1 € to any ticket bought online thus choosing to help UNHCR to protect refugees worldwide.
The donation will be transferred from Blu-express to UNHCR with no cost deduction.
The funds raised through this initative will contribute to the creation of an "Emergency Fund" which will be used by UNHCR to provide assistance to children, women and men victims of war, persecution and natural disasters.
UNHCR operates in more than 120 countries worldwide. It protects and provides material assistance to more than 40 million people, 80% of them are women and children forced to flee their homes because of wars, violence, persecution and natural disasters; UNHCR provides them with shelter, food, water, medical care and education.
With this partnership, Blu-express by Blue Panorama Airlines confirms its attention to humanitarian causes as already demonstrated through the provision of free humanitarian cargo to the Dominican Republic to bring relief to people of Haiti as well as was done in the past with humanitarian flights operated for Thailand, Sri Lanka, Mexico and Honduras.
“We are proud of the partnership with UNHCR – stated Mr Franco Pecci, CEO of Blu-express –
this partnership represents a further confirmation of our company attention to the themes of solidarity, social responsibility as well as to social equity and sustainability. Giving to our clients the opportunity of adding 1 € to the expense of their trip to help refugees worldwide is for Blu-express a great achievement. It is the result of a huge commitment and dedication to our work, a sign of transparency towards those who choose to fly with us and of trust to our company from customers who will join this cause”.
